I've got a Rotax 912iS installed in my aircraft.
I had an issue in 2021 with a fuel pump that failed run-up on the return leg of a 30-minute flight, a week after I got the aircraft back from annual inspection.
My mechanic suggested adding some dielectric grease to the pump power connector; I did that and it fixed the issue for the next 150 hours of operation until the entire pump assembly had to be replaced per Rotax SB-912 i-013iS. Another idea for you as part of your diagnosis.

I pulled the pumps and sent them to Lockwood. They will repair (and conduct the 5-yr) and send them back to me.

My main pump went bad on final. shut off aux pump engine quit, On bench main pump only ran for 4 sec. then lock up. Ten amp fuse did not blow but x1 connector pin 11 arced enough to lose contact. Replaced both pumps. I have 2014 Flight Design CTLSi with only 310 tt .Replaced no 11 x1 pin had power to pump. Had to replace lane (B) regulator before engine would run normal .Do not know if they are related or is a coincidence.

Lockwood turned it around in 1 day. Excellent service (as always). They verified pump 1 had failed. They ended up replacing both of them to be on the safe side.
