Hi all

Volts will only show you that the system supplies an excess over 12 to keep everything working, that is the job of the regulator.  Most regulators will run from 13 up to 14 or just over 14.  Amps are a different story.  The small variables between are not really an issue. 

If you do lose power from the stators completely the system will still run on battery power until it drops down to 9 volt, then everything will die.  The ECU at that point can no longer function.
