Haha. I have the Thermostasis oil thermostat and it works great. But I am not a fan of the extra hose, extra connections and extra weight.

The two I see the most is Perma Cool and Thermostasis.

    Hi All

Rotax published information on oil thermostats.  Basically they are OK to use but all installation information and selection is up to the OEM for suitability and proof of design.  The only guidelines are the temperature opening and that they should be of metal.  If the aircraft is certified or SLSA the OEM must approve the installation and provide continued airworthiness instructions.

For experimental, especially in the USA, Perma Cool was used a lot by customers.  Now a search will show you a lot of options but i personally would avoid the very low cost ones, unless someone has tested them on a Rotax.  Be sure that the hose size is correct for your engine flow.  I personally would not used the Perma Cool on a 915 or 916 however, the oil flow is much higher and I would not want to be the one doing the "experimenting" to verify flows.

    Cheers

Thank you all for the info, but again i am focusing this thread, regarding the Silent Hektitk F1212 oil thermostat assembly.

What is the benefit of mounting it directly on the oil pump? can it reduce the or badly affect the performance?
