Rotax 912iS EMU or BUDS Level 3
I am currently in the process of purchasing a Rotax 912iS in order to perform emissions tests, either on a test stand or using a dyno (haven't decided which, yet).
In the process of ordering the engine, we're trying to determine which would be better for our purposes: to simply by a BUDS cable and have it hooked up to a computer, or purchase the EMU.
Concerns for each:
We want all of the information that the EMU would provide. So would the BUDS cable/system provide all of that information?
Having detailed fault information would be helpful for our purposes, so how much fault information does the EMU supply vs the BUDS?
Is installation of the BUDS system complicated? Would we need a lot of extra components to make it work? We are on a very tight budget for this project.
Cost-wise it looks like the BUDS cable/system with a computer is more cost effective, but I'd like to get your opinions on this.
Your input is greatly appreciated!
