Correct way to turn 912is off?

Hi all
Finally got our plane with 912is sport.
One thing I do not understand. I would think that you turn the engine off by turning the Lane A & B switches off. But according to the airplane supplier I should turn off the engine with the main fuel pump switch! When I turn that switch off, the engine stops right away. I do not understand why.
What is the right way to do it?
