I am building a Sling 2 with a new 912 iS installation. Everything has been going fine with the install up till recently. Both lanes were working fine and communicating with the MGL EFIS system. I was ready to start the engine and had just finished purging the oil system etc. and noticed that there was no oil pressure indication (Showed 0 all the time) and that now the lane B light is on steady. Lane A light is out. Looking at the MGL diagnostics I can see that there data from lane A but no data from lane B. In troubleshooting the oil pressure sensor I have found that there is no 5 VDC on the voltage supply pin on the oil pressure sensor connector. All that green LEDS in the fuse box are glowing.

I am at a loss as to how to proceed with the troubleshooting as it appears that lane B has stopped working. Hope someone can give me some insight into the next step. I do not have the BUDS software yet.

Thanks Andy

OK problem solved. I knew it needed to be something simple. The Lane B enable switch was not making a proper connection so lane B was not even turned on. Knew it had to be something I did incorrectly. Started the engine on the first push of the start button. Runs beautifully just like a car engine. Great!! Thanks. Andy

A newbie to injected. What are lanes A and B all about. What should I know as the pilot.

It's not about injection as much as the issue is about control of the engine functions. The 912iS uses two computers to control ignition, fuel, and other functions. The two computers, basically identical, located in the same case, are labeled A and B. In the past, engines had magnetos labeled left and right. The pilot performed mag checks prior to takeoff. With the iS engine the pilot tests engine operation on either computer using switched called Lane A and Lane B.
