Min Exhaust Pipe Length

I have a 912 is installed on a kitfox and Im realizing my exhaust pipe is long compared to other installs. Which makes me wonder what the shortest acceptable length is for the pipe. It is a stock Rotax exhaust system and has a 45 degree cut in the end (which I put there during the build). Id like to shorten it as much as possible.

You could cut it flush with the muffler if you wanted.

As long as it is long enough that you are not messing up the finish on the fuselage, it is long enough.

This is really just a cosmetic issue. 2-3 inches is usually enough.

Bill is right as usual. Just make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector if you shorten it, just in case.........
