Anybody know the socket size for the turbo oil sump plug on the 915? Maintenance manual says it's M22x1.5, but that doesn't tell me that actual wrench size. It's bigger than anything I've got (22mm). I used an adjustable wrench to remove it, but would like to get a proper socket so I can torque it accurately.

I think that it takes a 7/8 wrench.  Will verify later this weekend if I can. 22MM is just shy of 7/8 inches.  Try one and see if it works.  I am a new Montaer MC01 owner and have been gathering tools for my first oil change. I'm pretty sure a 7/8 socket will do the trick. I will most likely get aan EZ quick drain to make things easier.

It's substantially larger than 22mm, so I don't think 7/8 will do it. Also, I'm talking about the turbo oil sump, not the oil tank. No EZ quick drain for that.

On that topic, no need for an EZ drain on the oil tank, either. I just remove the tank and dump it. Easier and faster, especially since I clean the tank anyway.

After twice draining my gyrocopter's well hidden engine oil tank, using a mashed-up funnel and hose, a Saf-Air EZ drain is now installed. Now nary a dribble.

Again, I'm not talking about the oil tank.

You will need a relatively large wrench or socket with a size of 27mm for the turbo oil sump plug.
