915 vs 916

Are there physical differences between the 915 and 916 that account for the 1200hr vs 2000hr tbo ? Many people can operate on condition, but if there are things about the 916 that mean it will last over 50% longer than a 915, that could influence the choice of engine.

the key to getting the TBO higher, with additional HP, are the changes internally in the crankcase and crankshaft. These parts are physically stronger and that is the major reason they were able to increase TBO. Unless they make a new version of the 915 with the new parts the TBO is likely not going to be increased on that model.
