Installing a CS prop with hydraulic controller. Has anyone advise on how to access and tighten the bottom gearbox bolt on the Jihostroj hydraulic controller? Access on the back of the 915iS gearbox is very limited and access to that bottom bolt seems impossible without removal of some of the rotax engine accessories.

    Yes.😉

I discovered the same problem. You have a choice and options.

You will need to heat and bend a Ring Spanner to the correct angle to install the Lower Left hand Bolt, if you replace the Studs with Bolts!

Kindly note I said Bolt (or you can use Cap Head Bolts). I replaced the Studs with Cap Heads Why? Well if you need to remove the hydraulic controller into the future it would be very difficult with the Studs in place.

With Cap Head Bolts you can still remove the hydraulic unit at any future point in time without the need to heat studs for removal.

Tools. Long Nose pliers. Long Allan Key. If usig a Bolt you will need to heat and bend a Ring Spanner to the correct angle.

Its a slow process but works and may uncomplicate you future. Dont for get the lock tight! 😁 and the gasket! Good luck.

OK, best option for me, use Allen bolts not studs.  Mount with ¼ drive tools, use a long extension.  Clearance problem solved.  They make both a 5MM and a 6MM.  It solves all the mount issue for the mount plate, the governor and also works in all the tight places.

    Cheers

OK all, thanks for your insights. Since I posted this request for info I have found the following solution ......

'RS Flight Systems' sells a MT propeller governor mounting kit that is also applicable to the Jihostroj governor. The kit comprises a set of four bolts together with a mounting tool that's a ring spanner bent so as to reach that lower bolt.

Using that spanner/wrench reaching the bottom bolt is manageable, turning one flat a time.

    See attached

    Cheers, Terry C.
