Is there anyone that has the complete specification of the ROTAX 915 is authorized fuel pump assy ? I need data on :

- Pump performance curve (when one or both pump(s) is/are on)

- Self-priming length of the pump

Any data or experiences are greatly appreciated :)

Reverse engineering indicates that the pumps are Rotax custom assemblies based on the Pierburgh Model E2T - 7.21287.53.0 pump.
The Electrical and Fuel fittings are Rotax Custom Specified.

My own experiments indicat that a new pump can pull about -2.5psi of head in Air.
Implying that about 6 feet of self prime could theoretically be possible, but I wouldn't push my luck.

My installation has ~18" of positve head with a full tank and ~12" of Negative Head at empty.
So in actual operation Self priming is never a real consideration.

Rotax iS Fuel Pumps are having problems right now. I have returned 5 by now. Brand new out of the box and they can't produce the PSI to start the engine. Really bad show and no bulletin about it yet. I am looking to completely do fuel pumpth 915iS and just get credit from Rotax.

I heard rumors like this quite a lot. Is this pump that un-reliable? Because we need to understand that this pump is used in aircraft like for example ICON A5 which claims that it can even be flown reliably for a first-time user who never had any flight experience before CMIIW?

Flying the A5 will require a Sport Pilot License with a Sea Plane Endorsement at a minimum.
That hardly describes a " ...first-time user who never had any flight experience... "
