Complete engine overhaul
Greeting - my first post. Well, I just finished a complete overhaul on a 1995 type 657 engine. I need help to identify where the fuel, oil and water hoses connect. I have looked all over and can not get a clear answer. I have the service manual and downloaded the on line comprehensive overhaul manual. Both are unclear on this topic. So, first the oil tank has two 3/8 “ lines coming off the bottom. One with a filter and one without. The tank also has a 1/2” line on the top connected to the sensor unit. The sensor unit has both the 1/2” line and a 1/4” line that has a one way valve on it which is connected to the sensor unit. Where do these lines go please.
second - water. On the head, rear has a 3/4” hose going to the transom water outlet. That’s ok. The head stern , also has a 1/2” outlet for the flush connector . That is ok. On the exhaust, on the top portion that is bolted to the engine exhaust manifold, there is a 1/4” hose fitting on the very top of that portion there is a 3/8” nipple on the bottom end of this portion. Where do these two hoses connect. And last - on the bottom portion of the exhaust before the muffler, there is a 1/4” nipple on the top of the input for this pipe and a 1/4” nipple on the top of this long straight piece..
there is a 3/8” nipple on the block above the starter. And on the intake side of the block there is a 1/2” nipple on the block below the oil pump. Where do these connect please.
Gas - carbs have a 1/4” hose running between the carbs. In addition, the Forward carb has a 1/4” nipple on the front and rear of the carb. The aft carb only has one 1/4” nipple facing toward the back. (In addition to the one facing forward that is connected to the front carb) .
the oil pump has a 3/8” nipple that I assume is oil in and one tiny nipple which might take a special connector ?
well, that’s it. I would really appreciate any help or advise that might be given . Take care, stay safe. Captdale
