I'm writing from Kenya, East Africa where we cannot find Mobil 1 Racing 4T and ELF merged with Total a few years back. ELF MOTO XT4 came highly recommended in one of the Rotax service bulletins and we've consulted with Total here who tell us their Racing 4T is the same oil after the merger (I've checked and Volumetric mass, Viscosities, Flash point and Pour points are all the same). We've been using Racing 4T in the 4-strokers and 2T in 582s with good results. We can get Aero Shell from our local airports (Wilson Airport in Langata) but it's terribly expensive (equivalent $25 per litre) and they don't always have enough in stock.

Time to update this thread....just recently Rotax approved this oil for the new type 916 engine. I would bet this will work on all the 4 stroke line and will give some other benefits.
