Does the prop length effect cruise speed? I put floats on and lost about 20 mph with a 68"NR 3 blade. I know I need to play the pitch as it was set at about 5300 max cruise . I hope changing to 5600 rpm will not make cruise even worse?

I know this thread is a little old but wanted to get it going again with a new prop.
Anyone have any experience with e-props?

E Prop’s seem to be doing well. I just talked to a good friend that’s a really good Rotax mechanic and he has two planes with them on there. I have two other friends with the same E Prop.
They all claim around 5700 rpm on take off roll, 300 rpm in climb better and about 5550 WOT rpm. They all seem to like the EProp. Plus the weight is only around 4- 5 pounds and compared to a $2500 Sensenich prop it cost around $1800 which they said included the spinner and back plate.
Sounds like E Prop is doing well.

Thanks for the info on your friends experience with the e-prop.
If what the reviews say is true, I can't beat the price and weight saving. I was about to pull the trigger on one then read this from JG at stolspeed in his prop comparison.
Notable here is how the EProp produced the lowest static thrust, and the engine revved out to the same as it’s WOT! So it didn’t have nearly enough blade area to couple with the air at that full power setting at no airspeed, and there was heaps of slippage and cavitating. This backs up the observation by an experienced instructor who tried the EProp and noted that when he applied full power in a low speed go-around he got lots of revs but little immediate thrust…. Also noted by an observer off to the side, was that the blades flexed (coned) considerably forward under power. I guess the manufacturer knows what they’re doing, but I sure don’t like the idea of all that flexing going on in such a high revving highly loaded critical component...

I believe on e-props website it states something to the effect that this prop should not be put to full throttle with brakes locked.
I do a lot of short fields and farmers fields and am nervous about the cavitation.
Did your friends say anything about that or do you have any thoughts about that?
Is the thrust test a good test for short takeoffs or is only showing which blade is stiffer not necessarily better?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
