My 912UL voltage readings at engine start-up read a bit over 16 volts to begin and then settle down to a steady 14 volts after a short while. Is this normal? I have recently installed a new direct ground from the battery to the engine and cleaned all the contacts to my voltage regulator. This was done to correct the voltage readings from changing during flight and this has been corrected. I normally don't keep an eye on the voltage at start-up and watch the oil pressure instead. My battery is several years old but seems just fine and cranks the engine well at start-up.
