I am no expert but have been looking at engine cooling lately. As I know you need oil temperature and one other temperature - either CHT (I have one for each side) or cooling fluid. See the Rotax 912 operations manual for the actual values to see if your engine is within the normal operating range and within limitations.

    Dear Paul
Thank you so much but I need to know about engine block cooling, in position where my engine may work on land, I want to have a feedback of body temperature to ensure correctly engine working, and if i have to implement extra fan, finally, how to choose it...

I think the engine block temp is not so important as not the source of heat , the real important is cylinder head which on a 912 engine is water temp to . The oil splashes around the engine block so is read by your oil temp gauge , there isn't,t any block temp probes in the engine same as any car. Your main problem with 912 is at full power for long periods the oil temp can climb and after power is backed off will take time to cool down as you have to cool three litres of oil .

    Good luck

    Cheers dn
