Hey Guys,

Have any of you, use fuel stabilizers? Any advise on brand or any similar product, etc, etc

I have read many times about these products but never use them.

I have not flying my Magni gyro with Rotax 914 for more than a year and now the fuel tank has a bad odor and I need to clean the carburetors, changing fuel lines, filter, because of the fuel gumming.......... I am also thinking on changing the fuel electric pump too.

Thanks for you advise

Isaac

    Hi Isaac,

I use Stabil. I put it in my fuel drum when I fill it. This year at Sun & Fun Phil Lockwood brought it up and he said it works almost like magic to keep fuel fresh for almost a year. It forms a barrier on top of the fuel and keeps the lighter parts from evaporating off.

    Hey Alan,

Do the Sta-Bil is a additive that you use only when you storage for long time your UL or is something you can use regularly.

What I mean is do I need to use this additive only when I know I going to storage the UL

    THX,

    Isaac

I put it in every time I fill up my drum at the gas station. Every time. I have a 33 gallon plastic drum that I keep in the hanger and fill the Highlander from. Sometimes it takes me a couple of months to transfer it all into the airplane. It's cheap insurance.
