I have now successfully completed my 5 year rubber replacement with a sense of accomplishment I just finished my carburetors and balanced them using the carbmate. My engine has never run so smooth, amazing. I had a vibration between 4200 and 4800. Reset the prop which one blade was out almost 1 degree , that helped a lot. But the carb clean and sync wow it has never been so smooth and quiet.

The only issue I still have is when it tried to remove the needle jet the fixation screw was stripped. has anyone successfully extracted one? Is it possible to do without damaging the piston? seems quite fragile. I just left it alone, seem to be running fine for now.

    Hi Tim,

I would advise anyone that is going to remove the LOCTITED fixation screw to heat it up with a a heat gun or small butane torch. Once warm-hot it will unscrew without any issues.

Now back to your problem. You most likely twisted the slotted screwdriver top right off. You can drill it, be careful you don't go to far and use a extractor on it. It's a PITA, but it does work. Make sure you heat this up good before you use the extractor. When you install the new fixation screw DO NOT cover the threads with a lot of Loctite. A TINY drop of blue.
