Hi, does anyone know what and how to get rid of Internal error code 02 on the Flydat or tell me what it is? It just suddenly appeared today and will not go away or go to any engine data.

Hope these help. Some error codes need to be reset at a service facility.

Read this manual and look at section 7.6

    Another Flydat manual:

I have just been told from the Flydat dealer that the error code 02 means too high or low voltage spike.
This can only be reset by a dealer in which he explained he has to reprogram my unit to degrees F then back to Degrees C and should clear the code. All a bit strange. I am concerned why I suddenly got this fault as it appeared when starting my 912uls which was slightly flooded. I thought the regulator and capacitor was suppose to stop this.
Any way all good info for every one to know.

It is possible and maybe fairly likely that when the engine flooded the rpm dropped to a point that the electronics that you had on demanded and drew down more voltage with the reduced rpm than normal. That would have been the a downward voltage spike. I have seen this type of low voltage before when the electric draw is too great and the rpm is too low and the volts drop. I'm not a fan of Flydat because of some of its setup and that it has to go back to a dealer to reset some codes.

I never start my engine with any electronics or lights on except the Dynon EMS to see oil pressure. I wait until the engine is started, stable rpms and stable voltage before I turn any other instruments or lights on. I turn everything off before shutdown and low rpms insue.

You might try this and it may avoid another incident.

You could take the Flydat out and install a Dynon D10 or a D6? Just a thought.

That would make sense. I too am not a fan of Flydat but had no choice when it was in the aircraft when I purchased it.
