Dear all,

I will use my FK14/rotax in Africa. I would like to know your recommandation/Experience about the usage of the fuel return line to avoid vapor lock.

Do you use it at the take off or for the landing ? During the flight ?
I understand that a key challenge to use it during the flight, is the transfer of fuel to only one of the tanks.

Any feedback is very well appreciated

    Hi Lionel,

The fuel return line should always be open and moving fuel when the engine is running. There should not be a shut off and no need for one. This hose has a restrictor in it that only allows so much fuel through while keeping enough pressure in the fuel hose to the carbs.
I live in the Western US where it gets hot and dry. The recirculation line is a must especially with the newer style fuel pumps. Some people have this hose line go back to a header tank, a wing tank or to a gascolator.
