Hello,
Hope anyone can help...
In the last 3 flights (1 hour each), during taxi and engine test (no more than 5 minutos From engine start) the right CHT on my 912 ULS with 150 hours rise to the maximum limit, then power for takeoff and goes normal.
Thank you for any suggestion.

    Hi Andres,

A couple of questions. Is this something new out of the blue? Have you checked your coolant level in the expansion tank not just the reservoir. Do you have a thermostat? What is the exact temp it reaches?

Is this the new style head with the probe on top of the cylinder or the bottom? have you checked the tightness of the connector on the probe? It should not be lose.

    Hi Roger,
Plane has 150 hours without problem, but in the latest flight happen this. Always with low RPM and only right CHT (taxi and final app).
Both expansion and reservoir are ok. Temp reach 257 F for one second then descent to normal and equal Left side. It has Silent Hektik thermostat.
    Thank you.

    Hi Andres,

I have just had exactly the same problem suddenly develop with a 912ULS engine with only 50 hours.

At first I thought it may have been the sensors or the associated wiring, but I have eliminated these as possible causes. The cooling system does not have any blockages or obstructions and the coolant level in both the expansion tank and the overflow bottle are at the correct levels.  I now suspect that the thermostat is not opening at the correct temperature; it is a Silent Hektik also.

As your original post was 3 years ago, did you eventually find the cause of the problem, and if so, what was the cause?
