I am looking at a 21 year old 912ul 80 hp engine with 190 hrs on it. It is on an experimental aircraft. What are the airworthy requirements to legally fly this engine. It has had a complete inspection and is in excellent condition. However, I do not know the overhaul requirements if any. Nor the crankshaft inspection requirements. Any information is greatly appreciated

Being experimental, you don't have to follow "Airworthy requirements" on the engine.....HOWEVER, Just because you don't have to doesn't mean you shouldn't!
Go through the log books and make sure all the AD's are up to date and have it inspected by an iRMT or someone who is very familiar with Rotax engines. You can find all your ASB, SB. SL and inspection manuals on Rotax owner under Support/ bulletins tab. This is the very least you should do to make sure your engine is in safe operating condition before you fly!
