Hi,

This is a serious problem. 912 UL has either quit in flight or had seriously reduced power on several occasions. Good piloting and luck has kept all intact. This is an aircraft with folding wings and fiberglass tanks which were promised to be ethinol safe by manufacturer. Our inital problem was water in the fuel due to leaking fill caps. Fuel system was drained and inspected. We found water where you would expect, filter and carb bowls. We continue to have problems such as engine losing power on take off. Inspection of fuel system shows NO WATER in filers or carb bowls, and everything clean as a whistle, no evidence of sludge from deterating fiberglass fuel tanks. I put a fuel pressure gauge in the fuel line and had a steady 4.5 psi fuel pressure in a static run up.

Is this a high wing or low? Does it have an aux electric fuel pump? Have you put a set of carb sync GAUGES on it and taken a look? You may need to start back at the fuel tank and check fittings and the filter again for obstructions. Your obstruction might be moving or floating. You may want to disconnect the hose at the fuel tank and the hose before the carbs and blow air through the system and see if the fuel in the hose will flush anything out. Check the Banjo bolts fittings if you have them for an obstruction. Leave no stone unturned or sure enough the problem will lie there. This doesn't seem like a fuel pump failure since you tested that, but the pump could have its internal screen obstructed. Check the fittings that go into the carbs.

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge in your instrument panel? If so what does it read when the engine has this issue?
