Airspeed Reversing Prop Direction
Can the prop direction of a 912 ULS be inadvertently reversed by reducing power in a decent? If so, what would it do to the engine or gearbox?

It's a optical illusion (frame speed), your blades aren't bending either.

And by the way the wind will force the prop to go on the correct direction and not the contrary.

While having the prop driven by the air flow ("windmilling.) ... power down ....rather than pulling it's way though the air won'tt reverse it , it is transmitting forces an torques iposit to their normal directions. The back sides of the gear teeth are getting different contact she the plane is pushing the prop than when the prop is pulling the plane.
Someone suggested that the gearbox doesn't particularly "like" this.
True? I'm not sure. But, although we of course have to let the plane push the prop on at least the very last part of approach...I do make some effort to minimize the time I do that.
