Re Catch Cans. Some years ago I made a simple experimental one from a plastic peanut butter jar, cutting holes in the plastic lid for all the overflow/ vent lines from my 914 and added a small vent hole in the lid. It is still there some 10 years later, no corrosion evident and being transparent I can see the oil being collected, not much, only about 20 ml between 6 monthly servicing checks.

Love it! -
I have fitted my Granddaughters small clear plastic juice bottles to my new Sonex/Rotax.
The pop tops can be drilled for a nice tight fit for the size of hose to be used.
The flattened sides and narrow neck make zip/cable tying to airframe a doddle.
Be sure to drill a good number of breather holes around the neck and push the hose in at least 1/3 + of the bottle height.
I have one each for oil breather - fuel pump drain and carburettor float bowls.
