I have confirmed the ad is a scam. I don't consider my self to be naive but I was nearly taken in by this $$$$ and with hindsight was obviously too good to be true. This is the link to the ad which is still up even though I have reported it to site administrator.
    https://www.aerosales.co.uk/for-sale/engines-props/almost-new-rotax-912-uls-100hp_i4067

The photograph in the add is from an avert that appeared on German sales site and the 'scammer' ( I can think of a better word but not for print) sent me two additional pictures that i found on a company website as part of of re-build section, one of which I have used in the picture above to convince bill I have the engine.

I think I will buy a new one from a dealer so I don't have to deal with $$$$$ like this!

Received the following message from Aerosales who hosted the advert

    "HI Alan,

Thank you for your email. The advert has now been deleted from the website and the user has been blocked. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean the seller won’t reappear with a similar advert under a different identity, so we ask you to remain vigilant.

    Many thanks

    Shabana"

Just a heads-up... unfortunately this problem has not gone away - we are still receiving reports that there are still some lazy criminals out there trying to pull these sort of scams. If a ROTAX engine deal looks 'too good to be true" is most likely is a SCAM. Please be vigilant!

UPDATE: just had our first 2020 report of a scammer offering a $6000 912iS engine in Indonesia.
