Can I change my 582 Blue head from using pre mix gas to an engine with an oil injector? what equipment would I need?

    Yes. You can get the injector system from any Rotax dealer. Your blue head and carbs are set up to accept the system. It only involves removing the carbs and rotary valve cover. There is a removable plate on the valve cover where the injector mounts. A nylon gear is mounted inside the rotary valve cover and is driven by the rotary valve shaft. The nylon gear drives the injector. Two plastic oil lines feed oil to the carb manifold which has barbs already installed to accept the oil lines. An oil tank installed a little higher than the engine gravity feeds the pump. An oil cable which controls the oil feed is hooked to the throttle cable with a junction block. One days work and you are in business.

    Hi James,

    This was just taught in Rotax school in California today. This isn't something you want to do if you haven't been taught. There is more involved than just bolting it on. Seek out a Repair center or a 2 stroke Repairman.

    Thanks for the information. I was thinking that there is always more information needed. I would like to take the class. I live in the midwest.
