The sprag clutch is free spinning when I try to start the engine...... starter motor turns Ok, nothing happens apart from noise. I opened the gearbox and found the sprag clutch is not catching when it should all the time.....sometimes it does, sometimes not. I want to remove it to see if it can be repaired, and if not, replaced.
The bolt holding on the gears has an allen key head.
A couple of questions on the removal
Is the bolt conventionally threaded? (... you turn it anticlockwise to remove)
How do I stop the engine turning over as I try to remove the bolt?
and the final question..if needed... They are pretty expensive items new. Is there anyplace I could buy one secondhand?
