Greetings from Spain!! I´m overhaulin´ an old Rotax 532 (#3671883) with Bosch ignition points.). I have one question, ´cause is a mess to find the correct external coil resistance chart. From diferents sources, diferents resistance values but same engine and configuration. On the ROTAX 462 - 532 - 582 UL repair manual this info is NOT available.

IGNITION COIL EXTERNAL.
BOSCH 0 212 940 001 (OEM), Rotax 410-9130-00 , LP01080

IGNITION COIL PRIMARY CIRCUIT (1 - 15)
Bombardier Ski Doo Manual:
1.65 ohms- 2.05 ohms
OTHER source: (Aerofixaviation.com)
2.0 - 2.5 ohms 2.2

IGNITION COIL HT, SECONDARY CIRCUIT (4 - 1, 4 -15)
Bombardier Ski Doo Manual:
4.85 kohms - 5.85 kohms
OTHER source: (Aerofixaviation.com)
7.0 kohms - 7.5 kohms

Which one is the right one???

Any help will be aprreciated.
Thanks a lot.

    They are All correct

Resistance readings are only a general indication of operability.

Measuring resistances below 10 ohms requires a 4 lead measurement.
Your meter only has two leads and will only give a general indication of continuity at low resistances.

If the primary coil read well less than one ohm (a Short!) or more than 100... It's Bad.

If the Secondary Coil reads Less than 100 ohms or more than 100K ... also Bad.

The idea to take away here is that you should expect the Primary to read very low.
It will look almost like a short and this is normal.
And the secondary should be expected read a few thousand ohms normally.

If the secondary goes bad, for example, it is not going to be changing from 4 Kohms to 6 Kohms.
It is going to become a short or an open. <10 Ohms or >1 million.

The numbers quoted are from real-world measurements with different meters.
The numbers are going to vary. Yours will too!
Do not get hung up on the actual numbers.
Treat them as an instruction as to what range to set your meter.
