Ok. Im having a hard time finding Mobil 1 4T 10-40w. Is there any other oil that is good and might lower the over all high temp I have been seeing.

The Mobil 14T is not as important as the 10W 40 bit. I couldn't find reference to Mobil 14T either as it happens. I think that you will need to look elsewhere for the over heating problem though.

    Ryan,

I go down to my local motorcycle dealership and buy Belray EXP Semi-Synthetic 10W-40 Motorcycle Oil. It fits all specs for the 912/914 series. I use the semi-synthetic because I use 100LL occasionally. As for the temps, the type of oil you use is not going to effect your temps, oil or water. Air and liquid flow through your coolers is key. Remember, you must have adequate air outlets as well as inlets. Are you using an oil thermostat? The only one I have seen actually limits the oil flow through the oil cooler slightly even when completely open.

    Hi Ryan,

I doubt the oil is causing high temps.
As suggested I would look for another cause for over heating. What temps are you calling to hot?
Depending on a lot of factors (i.e. time of year, air flow, kink or tight bend in an oil hose, carb needle position, climb verses cruise, ect...)a temp of 200F-240F may be normal depending on your own situation.

Here are a couple of oils you can use with confidence:
Aero Shell Sport Plus 4 10-40 semi syn
    Mobile 1 Racing 4T 10- 40 full syn
Amsoil motorcycle oil 10-40 full syn
Golden Spectro 4 10-40 semi syn

If your prop is pitched too course and you only get something like 5200-5300 rpm WOT at flat and level then that is the reason. Unload the prop pitch and that will unload the engine and allow temps to come down.
