Mystified Over Lack of Power in 914
Landed and after approximately an hour took off. Found I could only get 33ins at 5790rpm for take-off, was not a problem from a safety point of view so continued the flight to my home base. Double checked that the choke was off, prop was in fine pitch as proven by the take-off rpm and the the throttle was fully pushed open. T's & P's and fuel pressure all normal. Secondary pump on for take-off.
When I was back home checked the following
Throttle cables were fully opening evenly to stops on both carbs. Cable action was full and with correct friction and not binding.
Chokes were operating correctly and not binding.
All was OK.
I will run the engine again tomorrow in the same state as today ie from cold start warmed up and secondly as a start from warm and check my power settings.
In the meantime has anyone got any ideas as to this loss in power.
Cheers Peter
