Hello,

This type oil has been specifically designed for ROTAX 912/914 series or for other 4T engines: temp, altitude, constant RPM, etc.

Its specs are very convincing. They also claim it to be suitable for gearboxes.

It seems that other oils are more designed for the motorcycle world.

I would like to known if anyone has experience with this oil.

I have been using Aeroshell 4 for a couple years now in my 2007 Rotax 912-ULS. After engine warm up, oil pressures remains lower then with the higher weight motorcycle type oils due to its lower viscosity. Pressure remains within limits, but may be cause for some concern initially so watch your oil pressure gauge. I replaced the old Rotax oil pressure regulator assembly with the newer version and double checked the pressure with a mechanical gauge. All looking OK, but wanted to be sure I did not have a gauge malfunction after installing the Aeroshell oil.

    Hi Jan,

Aero Shell is a good oil and there are others that will work just fine, but they are all designed with the gearbox and engine sharing oil concept in mind.
Read this blog and maybe it might help.
