I have not seen any discussion on using Can-Am (Bombardier) oils in the 912uls. Specifically - XPS synthetic Blend P/N 293600121. This oil is recommended for the Rotax engines in the Can-Am Spyder.I am wondering if anybody is using this oil? Any comments would be appreciated.

    Richard,

I use Harley davidson (Amsoil) API service SG, SL/CF/CG-4 which i get at my local Harley dealer. I would imagine that the Can-Am oil is just as good since the crankcase and gearbox are an integrated unit and share the same oil supply. Main thing to look for is whether the oil is SG rated.

That should work so long as you make sure it's at least a 10-40w. It just needs to be an oil designed for motorcycles because of the different additives.Auto oils don't have these additives. It should be a semi or full synthetic, but that choice also depends on you choice of fuel. (i.e. 100LL or auto fuel) Seems like this oil may be slightly harder to come by than a few other good choices and maybe a tad more expensive.
Here is a short blog from our forum on oils.

Thanks to both for the replies. I have a Can-Am dealership, so the oil is readly available :)
