    I have seen, on an 80 hp 912UL, where the engine was lugged (as I described) and this caused oil leakage at the head to cylinder joint as well as the cylinder to case joint due to excessive cylinder pressure.

    Running too much pitch in the prop can cause this. This is why Rotax recommends 5200 or more rpm on takeoff.
