Hello. I have a newer Rotax 912ULS2 with the 01 serial number. According to the Operators Manual, the max temp is 248F. I have not been able to find any numbers for what would be considered normal operating temperatures, for example, 150 to 230F normal. I am replacing my external coolant radiator with a new Rotax radiator inside the cowling and I will be watching my temperatures very closely, so I was hoping to find "normal" operating temperatures as a guide. Thanks.

The time of year with its outside air temps plays a part here. Engine setup like prop pitch, cooler setup and outside air vents all play a part.
Cooler or down right cold OAT months bring cooler engine temps and hot summer months hotter temps. I'm not sure where you live in the world which will make a difference in OAT's right now.

Normal oil temps are between 190F-225F in cruise for most aircraft. This depends on several factors and some of them are within your control.
Coolant is anywhere around 190F-230F in cruise depending on those other factors. This to is affected by how you have your oil cooler and coolant radiator mounted. Throttle position can also play a part.

Take off temp can be hotter. Seeing 230F-240F can be normal at take off for some owners, but this should cool down in a flat and level cruise.

In the warmer summer months in Tucson, AZ where OAT's can be over 100F my cruise temps at 5200 run right at 215F-218F. I fly a Flight Design CTSW. I can see 230F on an extended take off climb. Nothing wrong with a 230F-235F during a climb out. That is within normal limits during hotter months.

    Hi Javier,
The oil temp would be better up between 200F- 215F to help burn off any impurities that accumulate. The CHT temp will follow with the other increased temps.m

Your plane can fly at your temps and it isn't dangerous, but the temps should be higher. Healthier for the engine over the long haul.
