Thanks Roger, the way to increase the temperature of CHT, is closing the air intake of the water radiator??? and closing too the air intake of the oil radiator?
    Thanks a lot

    Hi Javier,

Yes. Many in the cooler or cold winter months may take a piece of 2" wide aluminum tape and place it across the coolant radiator and oil cooler to reduce the cold air flow and allow the engine temps to increase. Don't use Duct tape because the glue on the tape gets hot and makes a mess on the radiator fins. The aluminum tape doesn't have all that glue and doesn't stick real well to the fins, but you wrap it around the ends and I usually fold over about 1/4" up at the top edge. I have never seen the aluminum tape come off anyone's plane. Using the 2" tape isn't an exact science so shoot for temps between 200F-220F.This method seems to work well. People that have temps down below zero use a little more tape. Usually when my daily home OAT get to around 60F +/- the tape comes off.

The reason I think so many use the tape is because it is quick, easy and cheap.

    Hi Roger,
I closed the coolant radiator and the oil cooler with the aluminium tape, the temp of the oil increase 180F°perhaps need to close more the oil cooler; the temp of CHT increase also but the coolant radiator is lossing water now (drops ), I checked the temp of the EMS indicator vs the temp in the lines of the coolant radiator and found discrepance about 15F° it seems the sender is not working correctly and I overheat the coolant radiator. My radiator is located under the seats of my RANS S12XL, I´m thinking to change my radiator, do you have any recomendation to fix my trouble.
    Thanks,
    Javier

Your leak may only be a clamp. Tighten them all. What do you consider an overheat temp?

Roger, the coolant radiator has a resin around the escape valvule put in the front of the radiator, this resin seems to be broken, (the radiator is sealed made in pvc and aluminium),the temp of the CHT was aprox 180Fº when was flying, because the discrepance was 15Fº higher than the EIS indicator was in 165Fº. It smeels like an overheat radiator for me, but you are the expert, can you help me?
Perhaps you know a resin can I put and secure the valvule,or it is better to buy a new coolant radiator to be safe.
    thanks a lot
