I'm sure you'll enjoy your plane. You're right about LSA rules and variable pitched props in the US. You can't do it. Unfortunately because of that you will loose some of the 914 capabilities and performance with a ground adjustable prop. You will have to pick a pitch that will balance between climb and cruise. For you I would use 5600 rpm at WOT in level flight. Since you have a turbo setting it up at your average flight altitude isn't quite as important as the carbonated models. The good thing is you will keep some of that HP & torque at higher altitudes versus the carb engines that loose 3% per 1K ft.

Thanks for the information. I'm actually getting used to constantly moving the throttle to keep RPM somewhat steady. I can feel the airplane slowing or speeding up and it is starting to become automatic, but on a long flight it still is a PIA.

I own a Corvalis 400 and it is always rock solid, but this little plane is fun to fly. I just had it converted to ELSA and am flying it under my private pilot privileges, so maybe I can do a few things to it.

Thank you very much for your old message and the information.

Please adjust the low pitch stop on the electric limiter unit according the operation and installation manual E-118 and according the picture below.(In case of MT propeller)

Please adjust the inner stop nut as shown with the red mark .  Screw the stop nut a half turn in ( clock wise ), after that perform an ground run and check the rpm again, if necessary readjust it again .

If you need any more information , please let me know
