Hi,
In France it is now winter time, so I have decided to do some maintenance on my 912 ULS (5 year rubber hose change...). On my EUROSTAR (#800 hours), the temperatures are always lazy (even in summer time), especially the oil temperature, so I was wondering if was not the opportunity to add a thermostat on that circuit.
-What is your experience? Recommendation?
-What do you think about the Silent Hektik (see attached picture)

    It can help when living in colder climates. Some are only set to 180F so look for one around 200F might be a better choice.

    Iv live in an area where average yearly ambiant temp ranges are about 50c, with the extreams up to 70c. (-12 to +60c)
    Oil temp regulating is very important, and iv always had an inflight adjustable flap on a well ventilated oil cooler.
    Never bothered with coolant temp control, the cooler the better.

    OK, I have ordered a Silent Hektik thermostat for the oil circuit; I will keep you informed about my experience.... in a few month.

    Now, I am going to change all my rubber hoses and I will also probably take this opprtunity to change the existing scew clamps:

    for spring band clamp (MUBEA) like I have on the water cooling hoses:

    Nothing wrong with a fuel injection clamp on an oil hose because of its pressure. The spring clamps are good on those 17mm coolant hoses. Make sure the spring clamp is behind the flared end on the aluminum tube.

    I am also getting close to oil hose replacement. What is the proper method of performing an oil purge with a 4 port oil thermostat installed? I have the Thermostatis unit installed (similar to the one in the photo in the first post).
