I have a newly overhauled set or carbs and have been having hell with them. Initial problem was a rough running engine above about 28 manifold pressure. Replaced Rotax gasket with a cork gasket everything ran fine. Installed new Rotax gasket and runs fine but I see fuel leaking above 28 manifold pressure. Initially looked to be coming from the throttle butterfly arm. Had a local Rotax mechanic redo the butterfly and tested the engine again. Still seeing traces of a fuel leak coming from somewhere but only visible when the engine is running near top speed. Is there a way to pressurize the carburetor in order to look for what I think is still a pressure leak coming from somewhere?

Attached are a couple pictures where you can see the traces of fuel after just five minutes of running the engine near full power on the ground.

I am awaiting a new o-ring for the attachment nut to see if that is the source. The floats and float bowls are all new??? Anyone hear of issues with new bowls??

Need ideas before I see if Lockwood will warranty the rebuild.

Replace the gasket and properly torque the screw. Do not over torque it or you may warp the bowl and it will need replacement.

Replaced gasket two times once to try a cork gasket and then back to original style. No fuel is leaking from the seam and the bowl has been checked for straightness and wet sanded to ensure a very smooth surface finish.

I am wondering if the leak is coming from the idle jet? Or still the attachment nut but I see no fuel stain on the attachment nut or by wiping around the edge.

Slight leak and only at high power settings.

I am about to make this Lockwood's problem if the idle and attachment oring don't solve it. Wondering if it's leaking out one of the ball bearing seals?

Thought about adding air pressure the the input of the float bowl to check for leaks but really without the fuel going through the whole system under pressure that will tell me nothing.

Any suggestions on something else to try? Will pull the own one more time to change the attachment oring and verify the cutoff butterfly is straight and parallel.

Running out of items to try

Looks like I found my problem, pulled the idle valve and found this. Not a drop of lube on the ring.
