Subject says it all. I'm looking for an exhaust shop that will bend me a new Rotax header pipe. Mine cracked. A lot of aviation exhaust repair shops don't work with small diameter pipes like the ones Rotax uses. thanks for any info. John

How about just welding it? That's what most do.

It was repaired via weld before. It might be possible to reweld it, but I would think the pipe would get weaker each time. This header pipe (#3) is the same one that had cracked before.

I read one of your previous postings recommending an anti-seize lubricant to go between the exhaust collector and each pipe.

    thanks.

If this cracked again then it may mean the first welds weren't properly stress relieved or you have a lot of vibration. Make sure the exhaust studs are properly torqued and the springs on the exhaust pipe are sprung correctly. The engine mounts may need replacement if over 5 years old. Even the prop could cause this vibration and you may never feel it.
