Well I have to purge engine ? Would air have gotten into the hoses after I drained the mixture of fuel and oil. Thank you for your help in this matter

Just do a regular oil change, no purge. No need to get carried away and dump the oil cooler and all the hoses. When the oil temp gets hot what little remaining fuel will vaporize and exit the oil tank through the vent tube. Oil can get contaminates and this is one reason to get oil temps up and not have them too cold is to help get rid of those contaminates.

With regards to whether or not to turn fuel off after every flight, why does Rotax state, in the 914 Operator's Manual:

"Any shut-off of the fuel system for short periods or permanent has to be entered by the pilot into the logbook starting date and duration of shut-off."

That is in the context of an in-flight emergency, not everyday fuel management. (section 4.12 Engine Fire or Fire in the engine compartment).

    What Rob said.
On the other side of the coin we try to turn off fuel in a high wing when we're done flying for the day or parked for a while because sometimes the carbs can leak if you had a carb issue. I have read many times where someone said their carbs leaked overnight or while they were in a restaurant. A float may stick, the needle valve has debris or something else is wrong. It doesn't always happen, but it's just good sound safety practice to turn the fuel off when your done flying. It should be on your pre-flight list to turn the fuel on.
