after installing a new 912ul with the new fuel pump , i have been experiencing spiking fuel pressure as high as 7psi momentarily but mostly between 5 and 6psi. happens more often at throttle back. i haven't installed a fuel return , wondering if that has anything to do with the spiking . was never an issue with the old style pump .

I had that issue after installing a new pump but it stabilized around 4 psi after a few hours of run time.

It may be air, but many times spiking can come from poor electrical contacts even when they feel solid. I’ve had a couple of ghost like this and all it took was a squeeze of the pliers on an electrical connection that I thought was solid.

thanks roger. i have the vdo pressure xmitter with the ring terminals that tighten up good. i have to think it was air in the hose as i have flown almost 3 hours since I've seen any spiking. i think where my alarm came from was that my eis upper pressure limit warning was set at 5.5 psi and i don't think that when there was spiking it
ever went above the 7.25 limit for the new pump. red flashing lights always get my attention.
