    Hi all,

I moved my oil cooler out front and it has been working good with just myself.
The oil cooler is not as wide as the opening so I could get a slightly wider cooler if need be.
Yesterday was a sunny 75 degrees, full fuel and passenger. Oil temp was hitting 230 in cruise and 250 climbing.

Is this normal on a warm day or should I get the slightly bigger oil cooler?

    Thx

Regarding oil operating temperatures, the Operators Manual for the 912ULS states:

    Max 285
    Min 120
    Normal operating range: approximately 190 - 230

Based on that, if it were me I would try to get the temperatures down.

    Thx ken,

I was thinking the same, but wanted some other opinions since I'm new to this motor.

I have a 9x3 opening in my cowl, would a slightly bigger one help?

Anyone know what the sizes and part numbers are for the rotax one or should I go aftermarket and get one from earl's or setrab?

    Thx

Be sure that your exit opening is larger than the inlet opening. You could install a lip at the exit opening to create a vacuum at the rear
