Hi RW,
Ian's carbs indeed did not have the punch mark on the butterfly, but they have a number 15 stamped on them so if someone pays attention to where that is when they remove it it should be okay. If anyone forgets the alignment you can play with the butterfly valve by rotating it in place and you can find the correct sealing position.
