EGT Monitoring on 912ULS--Why only 2 of 4 cylinders?

2 and 4 are the lean and hot cylinders  so it makes sense

Yes, monitoring all 4 CHT will provide more information than monitoring 2 CHT.

Monitoring only 2 CHT is cheaper, less complicated, lighter and can still be helpful for diagnosing a problem carburetor.

In experimental aircraft, the choice is yours.

Hi all

On the type 914 all exhaust pipes have a fitting for EGT.  On the type 915 and 916 all are fitted with EGT that is monitored by the ECU.  The type 912iS has 4 EGT....so, why not fit each cylinder on a ULS?  I have no idea why Dynon would say this.

If this is a Dynon quote, I think the key word is "typically",  in this context meaning usual. It is not limiting the installer to two EGT's,  just letting you know the most common installation.😈
