practical experience shows that :
check the color of the spark, it's a perfect indicator of the mix. If it's oiled and black, the mix is too rich. If it's dry and almost white, it's too lean. Perfect color is almost dry and a light brown color.Adjust needle as per attached picture information.

It shouldn't be on the 912. Normal position is #3 from the top. The lower the clip i.e. #4 the richer. The higher i.e. #2 the leaner. leaner is okay for people at high elevation airports and that tend to fly higher than the guy at sea leavel.
