How to Tell What Coolant?

If you do not know exactly what's in there, and cannot find out, you really should do a complete flush. You really can't tell what it is from just the color. There are actually more than two types, but the usual types found in the US are green (inorganic) and orange (organic, "OAT").  A lot of the OAT formulas used in Europe are pink in color.  If yours came from there, that's probably what you have.

I flushed out my pink coolant right after my aircraft arrived from Europe; replaced it with Dex-Cool 50/50 (orange OAT).  Coming up on 400 hours now with no coolant issues.

Final thoughts:  do you know why you are low on coolant?  How much do you need to add?

Based on some discussions with others, I think it's Dex-cool 50/50.

Red coolant is usually just extended life coolant that isused in certain autos and made by different companies. Many of us in the US use DexCool 50/50 and it's an extended life.

I RECOMMEND YOU BUY THE CONCERTATED GALLON ONE AND ADD YOUR OWN DISTILLED WATER. DISTILLED WATER YOU CAN GET FROM ANY GROCERY STORE OR PHARMECY STORE. YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND OF WATER THEY USED WHEN YOU BUY 50/50. 

A LITTLE MORE WATER IS BETTER THAN LESS BECAUSE WATER HAS THERMAL PROTECTION BETTER THAN PURE ANTIFREEZE. 

FOLLOW MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDATION. OTHER ANTIFREEZE I BELIEVE HAVE SILICATES THAT IS NO GOOD FOR THE DOUBLE SEAL AT WATER PUMP AND OTHER TRAVELLING LOCATIONS IN ENGINE.
