Thanks Tyler - Yes, that was my suspicion and reason I wanted to check it.

Thanks Byron - I will check the clearance for that tool - I do have a 90deg 1/4 driver but not as slimline as that one!!

As for the question of the different reactions between the banks - No, the Vac differential wasn't that much - and I adjusted it to be spot on. See my comments to Roger - If I had a leak on a clamp, maybe I adjusted it 'out of sync' and caused the difference - will go and recheck on the weekend.

Well I got to the mixture screws and set to factory setting of 1.5 turns out. Balanced again - this time making sure I definitely had no leaks (New hose clamps of the correct size) - absolutely no leaks (perfect). Redid the balance at 3500 and 1800 - got it perfect again. But same as before - at idle, if I pull the left tube off the gauge the engine starts chugging and will stop if you don't block the tube, whereas pulling the right tube off causes the engine to speed up quite significantly and run smoother. WHY??????????????????

With balance tube back hooked up the engine runs nice and smooth and responds perfectly.

Just has me miffed - Why doesn't the engine respond the same when either side tube is opened?

The engine will run rough with the balance tube off. This isn't an issue. Just worry about a good sync and how it runs with the balance tube in place.
