Thanks to all for the feedback.

First apologies for mixing terms. When I said "reservoir" and "expansion tank" I meant the "Overflow Bottle".

I have seen a lot of water droplets condensing on the oil tank cap since I started flying this airplane. It's been very humid and last weekend trip to Triple Tree SC was incredibly humid.

So yes, I think that this is just water condensation although the orange color has me concerned. Do you guys think it would be possible for coolant to make it to the oil (other than through a cracked head)? How can I discard that possibility or am I being paranoid?

I will install an aluminum tape for now as suggested by Roger and see what happens.

    Best Regards,

    Chris

It is normal to see water droplets condensing on the oil tank cap. I noticed the same thing and asked a renowned expert. He said that it is perfectly normal and that's one reason you have to fly the airplane -- to get that moisture out. But my droplets were not orange. They were pure clean water droplets. I disagree that you need to get oil to 212 F to get the moisture out. There are previous discussions on that topic, if you can find them.

    Ken,

The droplets on the tank cap were clear. It's what was at the bottom of the tank that was kind of orange. Well, I will get the temp up and fly a few hours then check again.

I can well imagine that oil collecting at the bottom of the oil tank would not look perfectly clear and colorless.  If you still have it, you might want to give it the smell test.  Actual glycol-mix coolant has a rather distinctive smell.

I don't think atmospheric humidity should actually be a big factor when it comes to water mixing with the oil inside your engine.  On the other hand... is there any way rainwater might have found its way inside that tank?
