Better clamp to fuel hose
I have a rotax 914 and I'd like to know what is the best clamp to use on fuel hose line, especially in fuel filter connection?
Thank You,

I use Oetiker (one ear) clamps. One of the industry standards. They are stainless steel and tamper proof and they won’t loosen. Usually 13.3mm for 1/4” hose and either 14.5mm - 15.7mm for 5/16” hose depending on the metal fitting the hose goes over. If you find the aircraft Mfg put a large hose over a small fitting then I use a Band-It clamp to insure a slip proof hose connection. Flight Design did this on their 912iS engine where the main fuel hose goes on at the fuel rail.
The other hose clamp that will work are fuel injection clamps. Do not use the old traditional serrated worm drive clamps. They can and will cut into the outside rubber and if over tightened like many people do can over cam between the screw and openings and then strips out and won’t tighten,
The serrated open type garden hose clamps are old school and didn’t keep up with technology in my opinion.

Roger, thank you very much for the prompt reply.
Today I used Band-It on the rubber that connects to the fuel filter because I didn't have another one clamp (and I think it wasn't a bad option from what I understand from what you said).
As I clean my filter every 25 hours, next time I'll have the Oiteker to use it.

Nothing wrong with Band-It clamps just be careful not to use too much pressure and squeeze the hose to death. So long as you can’t pull it off you’re good to go.

My opinion - any clamp that has 360 degree even pressure, smooth non damaging edges /internal band, is suitable.
"Oetiker" and "Band It" both require additional product specific application equipment. So cost effectiveness, for someone servicing just their own aircraft is questionable
Personally I use clamps (various designs) suitable for fuel injection hose - just check that they are as per the first sentence above. They can be reused, fitted with ordinary workshop tools and cost effective (if purchased by the box).
I whole heartedly support RL's advise regarding clamping pressure - This advise is conditional on having the correct hose ID for the spigot OD. The hose should be self sealing without the need for a clamp. The clamp provides hose security, not leak prevention.

For frequently serviced items consider a quick disconnect setup.
